Today is October 31, 2009 a very spacial day all around the universe. It's Halloween! Special Traditions happen all around the world. The love for Hallloween for some is passionate within their souls. At times for others is just plain crazy with the hoilday. But all of us in Hazel Eyes are wondering what is the back roots behind the holiday that's the question.
The Beginning of Halloween?
Our team of reashers have found the truth behind the hoiliday. Though today we have found that Halloween is a great holiday for children and adults for costumes and candy it was not always the way it appears today folks. Halloween originates back to the celtics. It had all started back in the 5th century where Catholics had a problem with the Irish holiday of Samhain, which the catholics had called it Hallows Eve. The New Year of the Irish was for the night of October 31st so the dead would come back to earth. They had caused trouble and damaged crops. The celts believed in the spirits because it had been easy for the Druids and the Celtic priests to make predicitons of the future. Because these kinds of people believed in the spirits very highly because it was a source of direction for the long winter ahead. The Druids would make sacred bonfires and they would also sacrifice animals and crops for the deities. During this kind of ceremony they had worn costumes that consisted of animal heads and skins and to tell each others fortune. When they had been finished they had re-lit the bonfire to protect to help them from the coming harsh winter. Though the romans had conquered the majority of Celtic territory which in the four hundred years had ruled the Celtic land and the festivals were combined which is of Roman origin and celtic celebration of Samhain. Well Hazel eyes like to make sure that if you are going to give candy make sure to give a variety. Just like one year Rachel went treating and she found herself with good and the bad and just plain scary. One person gave her shoes! Kids Shoes! What is the world come about? This year she is on a survey on how haunted houses are if their scary or just awkward. She will also be attending some parties and rating them for our audiences. But if this year your staying home and planning to give out candy make sure its good candy because we want our future leaders(children) to be healthy as can be.
